As part of LSUs College of Music and Dramatic Arts, the School
of Music offers its students one of the nations most comprehensive
programs, including your choice of three undergraduate degrees,
three graduate degrees, and countless opportunities. Accredited
by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1931, the
program includes approximately 70 faculty and staff members, 300
undergraduates, and 150 graduate students. Divisions include academic
studies, bands, ensembles and conducting, instrumental, keyboard,
music education, and voice/opera.
Undergraduate degrees offered include:
- Bachelor of Arts in music
- Bachelor of Music (composition, performance, piano pedagogy)
- Bachelor of Music Education (instrumental and vocal)
Graduate degrees offered include:
- Master of Music (collaborative piano, composition, conducting,
music education, musicology, performance, piano pedagogy, theory)
- Doctor of Musical Arts (choral conducting, performance, wind
conducting)
- Doctor of Philosophy in Music (composition, music education,
musicology, music theory)
