Graduate Admissions

Students who wish to enroll in the LSU School of Music must be admitted to both the School of Music and the LSU Graduate School. The admission process to the University and the School of Music can be accomplished simultaneously, they are non-sequential.

To make an application for LSU Graduate Admissions, visit gradlsu.gs.lsu.edu.

Admission to the School, graduate assistantships and doctoral fellowships are competitive events. Early application and audition will ensure the best possible consideration. Students who audition after March 15 will be at a disadvantage for financial aid consideration. Deadlines for filing application materials are May 15 for the fall semester, October 15 for spring semester, and May 15 for summer sessions. Late applications incur an additional fee of $25.

In some circumstances, students with test scores below the stated minimums may be probationally admitted. Do not assume that your application will be rejected. Further information on probational admissions may be obtained from the Office of the Associate Dean of the School of Music.
