Recording Information
The LSU School of Music Recording Facility includes
· a concert recording station with mixer
· DAT and cassette recorders
· simple video recording system
· equipment for tape playback
· live sound microphone reinforcement in the Recital Hall
· a Macintosh-based system for hard-disk recording and editing of stereo digital audio 24-track digital recording system including:
· a Mackie 32 x 8 mixer
· three Alesis ADAT 8-track digital recorders (S-VHS tape format)
· Alesis BRC (Big Remote Controller) with autolocation and SMPTE/MIDI synchronization capabilities
· Alesis AI-1 Digital Interface with Sample Rate Converter (for transfer of digital audio to/from DAT and hard drive)
· high quality dynamics processors (compressors, gates and EQ by Aphex, dBx, Alesis and Orban)
· effects processors by Lexicon, Yamaha and Digitech and a professional patchbay, cabling monitor system

The Recording Facility has the capability to do multi-mic location recording and sound reinforcement with an array of microphones by Neumann, AKG, Sennheiser, Shure, and Crown.
