About the LSU Chamber SIngers
The LSU Chamber Singers, founded in 1988 by Kenneth Fulton, are widely recognized for the quality of their performances. The Chamber Singers have given invitational performances for the Louisiana Music Educators' Association, the American Choral Directors' Association, the American Musicological Society, and the Society of Composers, Inc. The Chamber Singers participate annually in the LSU Festival of Contemporary Music and have premiered several works by composers such as Jacob Druckman and Bernard Rands for the Festival and for other professional organizations.
Musica Sacra et Profana, established in 1989, is an annual concert by the Chamber Singers featuring exploratory performances of choral compositions that are little-known masterpieces from all musical epochs, particularly the 20th century.
The singers, chosen each year from the LSU student population, are a representative cross-section of LSU students, including music majors and non-majors as well as both undergraduate and graduate students.
